The Butterfly's Life table features a beautiful combination of Olive Ash Burl and Olive Macasar Ebony woods. The Swallowtail Butterfly is made from dyed poplar veneer in green and black. The top, middle and base area are all radially matched. Overall height is 30" with the octagonal middle ring 24" wide and the top 16" diameter.
One more interesting detail of this unusual piece is the construction of the central pedestal column. Also an octagon, it features 4 dovetailed fingers holding the middle ring. A smaller octagon pedestal continues up to hold the top. Notice the carefully chosen and placed lace patterned veneers on all three rings, and you'll see that this is truly a one of a kind art piece. The finish is Polyester filled Conversion Varnish.
