This three-legged end table was Custom designed for a home in an Arts and Crafts style. The house featured a large staircase railing of metal cattails. The front and the back legs have carved cattail details, and the tops are shaped to highlight the curves in existing furniture. The front leg joinery is hand cut dovetails, and the back is a combination bridle, dovetail joint. This table is made from Genuine Mahogany, with a tung oil varnish.
Depending on the placement in the room, both sides of the table can be equally seen. The tabletop shape is perfect for sweeping curved armchairs and sofas. Subtle Asian influences can be seen in the shape of the back legs and the treatment of the carved water on the front leg. The back leg and rail construction is joined with mortise and tenons. The front leg is connected by hand-cut dovetails and attached to the back with a combination bridle and lap dovetail joints.
