Product Description
Inspired from Japanese furniture and architecture, this stunning piece brings a touch of the Far East into your environment. Many of the design elements of Japanese Shoji screens have been incorporated into this bookcase. The design of the door grates is called Kumiko, and the legs take its shape from the Omune, which is the top of a temple or important buildings in Japan in the 1800 and 1900s.

The bookcase is made from Makore. Makore veneer is used for the back and shelves. The casework detail is hand cut dovetails. Peruvian Walnut is used for the door grates, and for the negative space just below the top. The pulls are hand forged black iron made in a tiny village in the Mie prefecture in Central Japan. This casework can hold books, CDs, and DVDs. The internal depth of the piece is 11 inches. Shelves are included (not shown).

The price shown above reflects the materials and specifications of this particular piece and may vary based on custom dimensions as well as the figure, character and availability of selected woods. Please call for customization inquiries.
