A gorgeous three-dimensional pattern on the lid of the Poppy Box is handcrafted in a proprietary technique by a California-based artisan. The lid is made from cast architectural gypsum cement with natural shellac and metallic pigments. The lids are hand-detailed and finished with four to six layers of metallic pigment.
The body of the box is made from bamboo, painted black on the outside and unpainted on the inside to reveal natural bamboo color. The lid has a metal knob in the center. Each knob is finished in a patina matching the main lid color.
