Our Apothecary End Table was built in the design of an old fashioned apothecary cabinet, once used to store medicines and herbs. The design necessarily conjures up a vision of days gone by, of the chemist concocting potions and cures. On a more contemporary note, each drawer, individually hand-fit, has been sized to store approximately 40 CDs each. The cabinet has many possible other uses - storage for prized possessions, special jewelry boxes, photographs. Let your imagination be your guide! Our cabinet is built from all solid lumber with hand-cut dovetails for the case and drawers. The primary wood is cherry, with walnut accents and pulls, while the secondary wood is poplar. The solid drawer bottoms are made of aromatic cedar. Narrow walnut splines decorate the breadboard top. The artists attention to detail makes this a truly remarkable piece! The cabinet is finished with a hand rubbed oil polyurethane for beauty and maximum protection. The drawers and inside of the case are finished with high quality paste wax to ensure years of trouble-free use.
