This collection of copper cookware is made in France by Pierre Vergnes - a copper artisan with decades of experience in handcrafting the finest cookware. Each pan has a thickness of 2.5 mm - 2 mm of finest quality copper with 0.5 mm of protective tin lining on the inside. This thickness allows for the most efficient heat distribution without any 'hot spots'. Steel handles add versatility of use without making the pan heavier.
The artisans at Pierre Vergnes have been creating the finest copper cookware since 1950 following the long-standing traditions of French coppersmithing. Pierre Vergnes cookware is used by the finest chefs and cooking enthusiasts all over Europe. The unrivaled quality will make our copper kitchen tools last your family for generations with proper care.
*Please note that the look and finish of each item by Pierre Vergnes may vary due to the handcrafted manner of production.
To protect the outer copper layer from developing patina prematurely, the manufacturer coats it with protective lacquer. The lacquer layer needs to be removed before the first use of your cookware. If you prefer the lacquer to be removed by us, please select the 'non-lacquered' option at checkout.
Our copper cookware is easy to maintain: cleaning with mild soap and warm water is recommended. Please avoid using steel wool or abrasive cleaners as they may rub away the inner tin layer. If the tin layer is scratched or damaged, the pot can be retinned - please call us to learn more.
The outer copper layer will develop a darker patina over time. The patina will not affect the functionality of your copper cookware; however, if you choose to remove it, we recommend using Barkeeper's Friend copper cleaning liquid, or a combination of one part lemon juice with three parts kosher salt to apply to the outer surface with a soft cloth, then rinse and dry immediately.
*Please note: our handcrafted copper cookware is not dishwasher safe.
