This unique handcrafted traditional side table has elegant, simple lines that bring the focus to the beautiful tiger maple wood grain. The artist crafts each table to order following the traditional furniture making techniques of the Shakers from 17th and 18th centuries. The knowledge of the craftsmen from long ago is combined with the modern innovations to create unique furniture that's both beautiful and functional.
The solid tiger maple surface of this table is dye-stained in a labor-intensive five-step process to bring out the wood grain pattern, and then finished with two coats of lacquer. The drawes are made from soft maple with aromatic cedar bottoms. Joinery is mortise & tenon and pegged.
