The Pride of Madeira Box is handcrafted with a unique botanical design imprinted on its lid. A proprietary technique is used to make the lid from cast architectural gypsum cement with natural shellac and metallic pigments. Each lid is hand-detailed and finished with four to six layers of metallic pigment.
The body of the box is made from bamboo, painted black on the outside and unpainted on the inside to reveal natural bamboo color. The lid has a metal knob in the center. Round knobs are used for the square boxes, each finished in a patina matching the main lid color.
The lid of each box is available in a variety of colors (Summer Gold shown) - see the color chart above. Custom color combinations are available upon request, please call to inquire.
