This simple yet stylish teak cutting board has elegant curved lines and a convenient centered hand hole. Teak is a dense hardwood that has self-healing properties against knife marks while being gentle on knife blades. The ample chopping space and lightweight construction will make this board one of your favorite kitchen tools.
*Please note that due to the color variations of natural teak wood, the pattern of your cutting board may be different from the pictures above. Proteak guarantees the unrivaled craftsmanship and long-lasting durability of all of their products regardless of their look.
This collection of beautiful and durable cutting boards by Proteak is made from teak wood sustainably grown in Mexico. Proteak grows their own teak following environmentally friendly practices. The agricultural specialists of Proteak select land for future plantations based on their soil profile and precipitation levels to ensure that the conditions are similar to those found in Southeast Asia, teak’s native land. These conditions allow Proteak to grow trees with premium quality timber without the need for invasive agricultural techniques.
Proteak is the first Mexican forestry company to successfully certify its plantations according to the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) standards, evidencing its sustainable forest management practices. The company strives to benefit the community by providing quality jobs with fair wages to all of its workers.
Before the initial use of your teak cutting board, warm up a small amount of Teak Cutting Board Oil and apply 4-5 coats onto the surface of your teak board with a soft cloth. Allow the oil to soak in before applying the next coat. Let your board rest for 4-6 hours, and wipe off the excess oil that did not soak in. For best results, apply a coat of Teak Cutting Board Oil or Seasoning Wax Stick treatment on a regular basis.
Wash with warm water and soap. Never submerge your teak boards in a sink of water - they may soak up moisture and become prone to cracking as they dry. Occasionally, you may disinfect the surface with white vinegar, hydrogen peroxide or diluted bleach.
